Temples

As the name suggests, this place has many temples, some even dating back to 18th century. The buildings and structures have become quite aged and worn out over the years, and its now time for our generation to help in maintaining and passing this rich heritage to the next generation.

First, lets take a look at the map with location of the temples -

Krishnan Kovil
The Krishnan Temple houses Lord Navaneetha Krishna. The temple is one of the oldest temple in Kovilmmalpuram, and is believed to be constructed around 18th century. This temple is on the right side of the Kovilammalpuram kulam.





Sastha Kovil
The Sastha (Ayyappan) temple is situated in the midst of the Kovilammalpuram lake. Recently in 2009, the Dharmasastha was shifted to the side of Krishnan Kovil.





Nalla Madasamy Kovil
Nallamadan along with Nallamadathy rever in dancing pose (the one of its kind). When alankaramed with chandan and kumkum with jewellery, they provide a cherishing moment, which shall be renewed year on year. Nallamadan is our kula deivam, and we owe our well being to him.




Recently Dr. V.Venkatasubramanian's Family have helped in renovating the temple, with marble walls, fan and other neaties.

Muppidathi Amman Kovil
This Amman temple is next to Nallamada Swamy temple.

Vayakkadu Amman Temple
Vayakkadu Amman temple is on the far end of the street, just before the vayal / plantation area. Even during summer, the breeze keeps you enjoying.

New Sivan Kovil
This temple was constructed quite recently around 2005. The temple houses many deities as can be observed from the images below.
